Adult Wellness.

From the first time you come in and throughout their entire life, the Bloormill Veterinary Hospital team will be there to give your pet the finest care possible. Preventative care is the key to your pet’s long healthy life! Every year, we encourage a full examination and fecal testing because illnesses may develop during that span of time. We’ll select which blood and urine tests are appropriate for your pet’s age, while also determining when more extensive testing like blood pressure measurement, skin sampling and x-rays is required.

  • We recommend annual physicals for patients of all life stages but may recommend more frequent exams if your pet’s health requires it. We will discuss diagnostics as appropriate for your pet. During your pet’s annual physical exam we will do a full check up which include examination of the ears, eyes, teeth, skin, auscultation of the heart and lung and palpation of the abdomen. During the physical exam we will also address any specific concerns you may have for your pet.

  • Our veterinarians will collaborate with you to establish a comprehensive immunization program to safeguard your pet.

  • Your veterinarian will evaluate your pet’s dental health and offer advice at your annual checkup. Pets, like people, require regular dental care both at home and at the veterinary clinic. According to the American Veterinary Dental Society, 70% of adult cats and 80% of adult dogs are afflicted with oral disease. In addition to discussing any disease process that is involved in your pet’s mouth we will also help you formulate a home dental care plan so you will have the knowledge to properly care for your pet’s teeth at home.

  • We’re here to shield your pet from intestinal parasites, fleas, ticks, and heartworms. We’ll collaborate with you to create the finest parasitic prevention program for your pets.

  • Nutrition is an essential aspect of your pet’s health and well-being. Your pet’s nutritional needs vary with age, health requirement and level of activity. Some medical issues can be successfully managed with specially developed diets. And sometimes with just a specialty diet and no medications.
